This evening, July 30th, 2017, in Portland, Oregon, Blue Collar Wrestling presents “The Perfect Storm vs. The Franchise. For the NWA World Title” at the North Portland Eagles Lodge in Portland, Oregon. The lodge is located at 7611 North Exeter and doors open at 5:30, bell time is 6 PM. Tickets are $10 general admission, $12 front row, with a family deal where you get 2 adults and 2 children in for $20! The main event is going to be Blue Collar Wrestling’s own Badd Blood, the NWA Continental heavyweight champion, facing off with “The Perfect Storm” Tim Storm, the NWA World heavyweight champion, in the first world title match in Portland in over twenty years!

Badd Blood is someone that I’ve gotten to know a little bit over the last couple years and I know that this is his dream come true. He was booked to face Storm for the title last winter, but winter weather prevented the match from taking place. From a fan’s perspective, this is a match months in the making, but for Blood this is a goal that is decades in the making. He has been wrestling for over twenty years, was instrumental in helping to bring the NWA back to Portland, set the record for longest NWA Pacific Northwest heavyweight title reign (a title held by a who’s who list of HOFers, including Bockwinkle, Patterson, Snuka, Ventura, Piper, Rose, Martel, Regal, Hennig, Dynamite Kid, and Raven) and is well on his way to doing the same thing with the Continental title! He is also very appreciative of those who helped him get to this point including indy promoters in Portland and the Northwest including not only Blue Collar Wrestling, but NWWA, WCWC as well as Sam Simms and Ron Von Hess up in Washington, publicly thanking them recently on social media. Despite the thousand of hours he has put in, the thousands of miles he has traveled and the thousands of dollars he has spent helping to make the NWA a power in the Pacific Northwest and across the nation his biggest challenge right now may be father time. Recently, Blood announced that he would be retiring from in ring competition later this year. This may be his one and only chance to hold the ten pounds of gold.

Current champion, Tim Storm, is not an opponent to be taken lightly, though. A former NWA North American heavyweight champion, Storm successfully defended that strap against Blood in Texas within the last couple years. He’s been a mainstay on the indy scene in Texas and the surrounding states for years and despite being the oldest man to hold the NWA World championship he is as tough as they come. He put former world champion, Jax Dane, on the shelf for months with a major injury by delivering one of the most destructive clotheslines in the business. And, Dane is a monster known the world over as “Godzilla”! Badd Blood is in for the fight of his life and win, lose or draw I know he is ready for it and that the fans in Portland are going to get more than their money’s worth, tonight!

Last week, Tex Thompson, Mac Trager and JB Moonshine won in the main event six man tag match against Measure 11 (Tommy Celcious, Gregor Petrov and Lance Dean). This week, Thompson continues his fued with Measure 11, challenging Petrov for the NWA Pacific Northwest title in a dog collar match. There is still bad blood between Trager and Celcious, too, as they will be facing off one on one. Also, last week, Cameron Starr pinned Big Vicious to win the vacant BCW title. Tech Tonik and Buddy Highway got the countout victory over Tyson Lee and Brian Armstrong. You’ve got to wonder if that will factor into tonight’s card as Highway challenges Lonestar for the Pacific Northwest TV title and Tonik defends the NWA Heritage title against Lee in a best 2 out of 3 falls match. Two other matches took place last week with Badd Blood pinning the Alaskan luchador, Phoenix Kid, and Zack Winters pinned Jimmy Boy.
