Blue Collar News

On Sunday, January 1st, 2017, NWA Blue Color Wrestling held their weekly show, at 7311 North Exeter Street in Portland, Oregon inside the North Eagles Club.

The first match of the night was for the Pacific Northwest TV Championship. “The Rebel” Lance Dean defeated Jimmy U Boy to retain. Next, we saw Leon Knight defeat Ironman in a match where Knight put his career on the line to get revenge for an attack by Ironman. He walked away from the victory Ironman’s share of BCW. That’s revenge! Then, the NWA PNW Champion,Gregor Petrov, retained the strap over Buddy Highway. Next, it was time for a Cache in the Case Ladder Match! The match featured Max Burnside, Big Vicious, Kaine Jaiden, Tyson Lee, and Teck Tonik, but it was Tommy Celcius that came out victorious. Finally, D. Mobb went against the Moonshiners for the number one contender spot for the tag titles. The Moonshiners came out on top after a fifteen minute battle that tested all four men!

Which brings us to this Sunday, January 8th. The North Eagles hall will be the site of the biggest match in the BCW’s history. NWA Continental Champion, Badd Blood, will get his opportunity to win the biggest prize in the NWA when World Heavyweight Champion, Tim Storm comes to Portland. Blood has been chasing this dream for 24 years. Also on the card, Petrov will defend the PNW Championship against Big Vicious. The guy may be big and he may be vicious but some question if he will be focused on the title or will he be distracted by the opportunity to regain possession of Bob, his sock monkey Petrov stole weeks ago. It’s hard to understand the motivation of a crazy man. Also, the tag titles will be on the line in a triple threat match. The champions, TNT, will be in the ring with both their nemesis, the Role Models, and the #1 contenders, the Moonshiners. Don’t miss this one! Bell time is 7 PM and history will be made!

I approached the NWA Continental Champion, “The Ghetto Heisman” Badd Blood and asked him what is going through his mind as we get closer to one of the biggest days in his life. This is what the challenger said: “Tim Storm is, by far, the toughest test I’ve had and this time I’m not going to fail. Tim will walk in as the 53rd NWA World Heavyweight Champion and I will walk out as the 54th. This Sunday I make it a point to show the NWA, I belong in the Circle…..” That’s determination, right there. Mr. Storm better not take Badd Blood lightly.

After speaking to Blood, I approached the champ and he replied, “The NWA World Heavyweight Champion is coming to NWA Blue Collar. Portland has an incredibly rich history in professional wrestling. Roddy Piper, Matt Bourne, The Grappler, and Ken Patera only to name a few of the greats. It will be an honor to defend “the 10 pounds of gold” in Portland. Blood deserves this opportunity. I know that The Franchise will be fully prepared and will be bringing his “A” game. When the final bell rings, I’ll be the one with my hand raised. I’ve been preparing a lifetime to be the NWA World Heavyweight Champion…. I plan on keeping it for a very long time. This Sunday, when its storming in Portland, be prepared, because blood could flow freely.” You don’t want to miss this one!

Now before we wrap this up, I want to ask a couple favors of you fans. First, if you are a sports fan I want you to go check out my friends over at Rivalry Radio. They are a great podcast that covers everything from the NFL, NBA and NHL to having me as a regular guest to talk about the NWA. You can find them on Facebook at “Rivalry Radio”.

And finally, I want to talk to you about something near a dear to me. And that’s the AFSP and their suicide prevention programs. On average, there are 121 suicides per day. There are a lot of people who need our help.
